Filling in a crucial previously unknown step in the foetal development process is the Rosette Cell, discovered by Professor Zernicka-Goetz of the University of Cambridge. This cellular form provided the answer to the fundamental question of implantation. Taking a step forward to the practical applications of stem cells, the potential influence of the Rosette Cell in regenerative medicine is huge.
